American Sniper took down our servers tonight

504 Error: The demand for American Sniper has overloaded our systems momentarily. We are working to keep our servers up, but it is far more traffic than we have had for any previous New Release and way more than we expected for this weekend while still in Private Beta. Thank you for your patience as we work to keep things running and upgrade the servers for next week. If you are having problems viewing let us know and we can get you a credit so you can watch your movie later.

  1. we would like a credit for the fiasco we had while trying to view American sniper tonight. We understand you had issues. Please give us a credit and we will wait a few days and watch it again

    1. Help- You can probably notice that we were only able to watch about 8 minutes of FOCUS.  Our stream paused for buffering about 6 times and completely stopped twice.  When it stops, we get a black screen with a Vid Angel logo. 
      With the problems we have had trying to stream your movies, I am in hopes of getting to the bottom of it. I access your streaming via my Samsung Galaxy Note 3 smartphone.  Once I purchase and load the vidio on you mobile phone app, I stream it to my TV using our Chrome-cast device.  
      We have the best internet feed Century Link offers.  It comes into the house directly through cables and then connects to our WIFI router that Century Link provides.  My entertainment center is located in the same room as the router, approx. 20 feet from the router.
      When the connection issues we had while attempting to watch FOCUS, we gave up but to insure it was not our own internet / wifi connection problem, I immediately went to my Netflix app on my phone and streamed a movie flawlessly.  I thought this test would be helpful because normally I never use my phone for Netflix, normally I access Netflix through my ROKU device.
      Now, when we originally signed up for your service, I sent an email asking about accessing VidAngel on ROKU, I got a reply saying I was good to go but I still can’t find a VidAngel channel on ROKU.  
      Please answer the following questions to help me improve my viewing experience before I give up on your service all together.  
      1. It seems I run into to buffering and complete loss of streaming during edited content. Is this a standard problem?  Can the number of edits I choose effect the continuation of my stream?  
      2. Please review again the steps I need to take to see if streaming though my ROKU player provides better results.
      3. Any other tips you may have to help be avoid all the stream interruptions would be greatly appreciated.  
      4. Please credit me for the FOCUS purchase. 
      I love your service as advertised, I have yet to watch a purchased video with out streaming problems.  I also appreciated your quick response when we asked for a credit for American Sniper we had problems watching Memorial Day weekend.  We still are anxious to buy and try watching that movie again uninterrupted but we need to find a solution for the streaming problems first.  
      Finally , I have a big extended family that will prove loyal future customers of yours but I have not felt comfortable recommending you yet until we figure out the streaming issues.

  2. Tried a movie tonight for the first time and the server was busted. Sold it back. Would like credit for the other 2 dollars also so I can try again another day. Hopefully with better results.

  3. We are trying to watch American Sniper tonight (6/5) and it is not working at all. Is it a server issue again? This is our first experience with Vidangel, so we’re hoping it isn’t always this spotty. We’re giving up on watching it for the night and would like the chance to watch it another time.

  4. So, I know this may be odd, but I’m kind of itching for a new blog post from VidAngel. I’ve really enjoyed VidAngel and I’m enjoying sharing it with friends and family. Curious what VidAngel’s up to and what’s in development – although I know you all are working like crazy every week to get new films up. Thank you by the way!
