Time for an update on our progress with the new VidAngel. The team has been furiously solving problems, and while it seems way too slow to us, we look at the issues we’ve solved over the past month and we are thrilled with how much ground we’ve covered!
If a problem you faced isn’t noted in here please comment below and ask us about it, there is a good chance we got it fixed, but forgot to put it in the this report:
ROKU 2, 3, AND STICK
- VidAngel now works on Roku 2, 3, AND STICK
- We fixed the stalling problem.
- Sell-back no longer shows an error.
- Roku 1 is not supported yet.
- We are working on a parental password (expected next week)
- We are also working on search for next week.
APPLE TV, iPHONE, iPAD, iPOD
- Moved from mirroring to airplay in HD using iPhone, iPad or iPod.
- Created a quick how to video for Apple TV.
- Purchased titles were not showing up in library on iPhone and iPad for up to 10 mins has been resolved.
CHROMECAST + NEXUS PLAYER
- We solved the white screen “brainfreeze” issue.
- We created a how to video for Chromecast.
- We have tested Nexus Player on VidAngel and it works! You can use it with Chromecast.
LAPTOP AND DESKTOP
We still haven’t got these running perfect but we made a few fixes.
- We added an alternate player to use until we find out why our main player is freezing.
- We solved the stalling problem in the alternate player

A few bits of feedback…
– The f-bomb slipped through quite a few times on The Figher. I don’t know if it’s the app or that movie specifically.
– Can you add 10 or 30 second rewind button? I would find myself trying to go back but it’s hard with the glider to not go back too far or not far enough.
– The only other thing I would say is “selection, selection, selection”. If you guys can add many more movies, you’ll hit this out of the park with consumers.

Dallin, that's a great suggestion and it's in our plans. However, Apple fortunately works really well without an app and so it's not our first priority. But we plan to create one.

How do I use vidangle on iPad?
Katie,
Just open VidAngel in your safari browser and proceed to http://www.vidangel.com as usual. Sign in and start buying and watching movies. The movies will go into full screen mode right as you start them.
BTW, this only works with Angel HD movies, not with YouTube movies.

I just noticed your blog post has the DVD video and blu ray discs logo under the desktop/laptop category. Does this mean vidangel can filter dvds played on my laptop? If so, how do I make this happen? Thank you! My family loves vidangel! 🙂 🙂 🙂
Sorry for the confusion. That logo shouldn't have been in the post. We're working on something for your DVDs and Blu-Rays in the future, but it isn't available now. We pulled the logo.

I have now purchased “Fury” twice to try to watch it. The first time it never worked so you refunded the money. I just tried again and it still doesn’t work. So then I rented it on Youtube and tried to enter through your site but it wasn’t edited. I’m about as frustrated as I’ve ever been trying to watch a movie. It never loads and it never starts. I tried it on 2 different computers and on an iPhone and an ipad. It will start to play on an iPhone but as soon as I turn on wifi on my phone to run it through the Apple TV it stops again. This service is absolutely worthless. The worst part is I have to email someone and so I wait for hours to even get support.

We just purchased the Grand Budapest Hotel and the movie would not start. We click on Play Movie from the menu and it goes to a loading bar for a few seconds before returning to the menu screen.
We just sold it back, a half hour after purchasing it. We would like a refund of the $2 it took from us and hopefully it will work for us next week.
Fyi, we are using a roku 3.

We have purchased Real Steel twice and have yet to be able to view it without it freezing up continually. How can we can this to work on our PC? Love the idea of VidAngel, but so far it’s a no win for us.
Is there any way to watch your movies without an internet connection? I have spotty internet, at best, and would like to watch a movie without fearing it stopping. Thanks.
We tried to watch Prometheus on our Roku 2. I had created a VidAngel account not knowing that it had to be the SAME login credential (or so I found out later troubleshooting) as my Roku. I purchased Prometheus, discovered it wouldn’t run, and sold it back. I’d like my $2 back for my trouble.
Then, I created a NEW account (using my Roku credentials), bought Prometheus again, and still it won’t play.
Can you help me before I sell this one back too and ask for the $2 refund?
Can’t figure why it’s not playing on Roku. On my computer (Macbook Pro), I get a black loading screen, and then it throws a “error loading” message.

I’ve tried for 2 nights to watch the Royal Christmas. I gave up last night, thought I’d try again tonight, but I was too late and said it was sold back. Then it miraculously started playing from the frozen part of the movie while I was searching for a new movie. weird. I got to watch about 10 minutes more and it’s completely frozen again. I’m trying to watch on my laptop using Chrome. Any suggestions? I love your movie filtering, I’m just not having any luck. Thanks

“Error loading player: no playable sources found” is all I get when I try to play a movie. Am using Windows 7. Any hope?

I just asked our Roku developer who said:
“We aren’t compatible. Roku XD is on firmware 3.1 (I believe) . We only support > 4.0”

Been watching movies with our Xbox 1 through the Internet explorer app. It’s been nice to watch Vidangel on our big tv vs. the laptop. About two weeks ago Vidangel hasn’t been letting me login using the Internet app. When I click on the login tab it won’t bring up the place to type in my email and password. It been a bummer not being able to use it.

Getting errors occupying the stream when try to watch anything.
Netflix is connected. Allows me set up fters but then gives these errors. Tried reinstalling.
2 versions on my roku stick. 1 just says vidangel and only has the Christian comedies on it. The other says vidangel beta and is the one causing problems. The beta actually won’t uninstall.
