Amazon Fire TV and Android TV Apps

They’re finally here! Since we launched in June, Amazon Fire TV and Android TV have been among the most requested apps. We hear you!

After lots of hard work and some courageous bug fighting, we’re happy to announce that the VidAngel apps for Amazon Fire TV and Android TV are now publicly available! You can find them on the Amazon Appstore and Google Play starting today.

Now you can watch & filter your favorite streaming accounts however the bleep you want right from the comfort of your couch!

We’re excited to get these into your hands and look forward to your feedback on how we can improve.

  1. while it’s probably a joke, I would suggest you take down your title of ‘Android Hacker’ especially during this lawsuit. Doesn’t bode well for your cause.

  2. So awesome that the fire app is up, but it’s not showing all the content I can get through the webpage and it won’t let me turn on any filters in the app? Are these known issues? Or just a problem for me. Thanks.

    1. Please make sure that you have the latest version of the app. Also please connect your streaming accounts on your Fire TV (for security reasons, you need to sign into Netflix and Amazon on each device).

  4. I am having the same problem on the Fire TV. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the latest version, logged into all my streaming accounts and double checked all payment and billing info on my account is up to date. There are no filter options available on any of the shows or movies. Is this just a bug in the app?

    1. Desiree, we are so sorry to hear that you are having problems watching on your Fire TV. We would love to help walk you through that so you can get watching this weekend. Could you please reach out to our Support Team and let them know exactly what issues you are seeing with the no filter options. If you could send them screen shots or photos of what you are seeing this will help them troubleshoot your problem.   5. I really liked paying for filtered movies one at a time, as I wanted to watch them. I am not interested in another monthly subscription service. It is sad that VidAngel will not work for me now.

  6. Oiy I so was hoping this would be available on the fire stick!!!! My husband and I want to watch GOT sans nudity!! Any dates yet for a fire stick app release?

      1. Neal, I was told my Firestick is not the problem, it’s my Samsung Smart TV. Is this still the case because I’m not seeing very many movies for Amazon?

  7. I cannot get vidangel to download on either of my amazon fire sticks. I followed the instruction from YouTube. I got the downloaded app but it just tells me there is an error everytime I type on the url. Any ideas???
