Here’s 4 reasons “The Fall Guy” might be a contender for your next movie night:
#1 Guinness World Record-Breaking stunts.
- Cannon roll: A modified Jeep Grand Cherokee was rolled over eight and a half times by an air cannon blast while driving 80 miles per hour on a wet Australian beach. Logan Holladay broke the previous record of seven rolls set by Adam Kirley in the 2006 James Bond film Casino Royale.
- Car jump: A truck was jumped over a 225-foot-wide canyon.
- Helicopter high fall: A character leaps from a high-flying helicopter over 150 feet.
- Boat jump: A fiery boat jump was performed.
#2 Ryan Gosling Tom Cruise’d a few of his own stunts.
- Falling backward 12 stories from a building
- Fighting in a garbage bin spinning through the streets
- Surfing on a metal plate dragged by a truck on the Sydney Harbour bridge
- Gosling performed some of his own stunts, but the majority were performed by his stunt doubles, including Justin Eaton, Troy Brown, Logan Holladay, and Ben Jenkin.
#3 Cultural references left and right.
#4 The cast.
Ryan Gosling (La La Land, The Big Short, The Gray Man), Emily Blunt (Oppenheimer, Pain Hustlers, The English), Aaron Taylor-Johnson (Bullet Train), Hannah Waddingham (Ted Lasso – NOT available with VidAngel)
Guest star: Diet Coke. Quite frankly, should have gotten a producer’s credit. Or an Oscar. Top notch performance.
