At some point, tolerating uncomfortable scenes became the price of watching good TV. However, that doesn’t mean you have to keep paying it. If you’ve ever looked away during a scene, you already know what we’re talking about. You’re not squeamish, you’re not sheltered, and you’re not weird. You simply don’t want the gratuitous stuff getting in the way of a great story.

That’s not a character flaw. In fact, it’s a pretty reasonable position to hold.

Someone Made a Choice. You’re Allowed to Disagree.

The writers, producers, and studios behind your favorite shows make choices. Specifically, someone decided that more profanity, more explicit scenes, and more graphic violence make for better storytelling. That may be their creative vision. But it doesn’t have to be your viewing experience.

When a show is rated TV-MA, that rating reflects a set of decisions made by other people. It doesn’t mean those elements are essential to the story. It also doesn’t mean you’re obligated to sit through all of them. For many viewers, the actual plot, the characters, and the emotional arc are the reasons they watch. The gratuitous moments are just… there.

So why is tolerating them the default?

The Workaround Isn’t Working

Most people develop their own system. You check the rating before you start. You look up a parent guide and maybe read a content warning or two. Then you sit down, hope for the best, and spend half the show with your finger hovering near the remote.

But even with all that research, you’re still guessing. Ratings are broad. A TV-14 show can have almost no foul language, or it can have dozens of instances depending on the season. Moreover, none of that research tells you exactly when to look away. It just tells you to be ready.

And then there’s the other workaround: you just push through it. The show is genuinely good. The story is compelling. You’re not about to quit halfway through a season because of one uncomfortable scene. So you watch, you wince, and you move on.

Except it’s never just one scene, is it?

There’s a Better Way to Watch

VidAngel lets you filter exactly what you don’t want—language, violence, sexual content—from the shows you actually want to watch. Instead of researching what might be in a show, you decide what will be in your viewing experience.

This means you don’t have to abandon the good stuff. It also means you don’t have to sit through the parts that aren’t worth it. You can watch the show you came for, without the scenes you didn’t ask for.

VidAngel works as a layer on top of your existing streaming subscriptions: Netflix, Prime Video, Peacock, Paramount+, Apple TV, and more. You’re simply watching shows you already pay for, your way.

If you want to learn more about how filtering works, here’s a quick overview of the filter categories available: What Filters options do you provide?

This Isn’t About Avoiding Great TV

It’s worth saying clearly: VidAngel users aren’t necessarily looking to watch less. They’re looking to watch more—more comfortably, more freely, and more often with the people they actually want to watch with.

Filtering doesn’t water down a show. It removes the specific elements you’ve chosen to skip, while leaving everything else intact. As a result, you stay engaged with the story rather than bracing for the next uncomfortable moment.

Great taste doesn’t require a high tolerance for things you never wanted to see in the first place.

Ready to Watch on Your Own Terms?

If you’ve been powering through scenes you’d rather skip or not watching something at all to avoid those scenes, there’s no reason to keep doing that. You’re not weird for wanting a better experience. You’re just someone who knows what they actually want to watch—and now you have a way to do it.

Here’s how to get started with VidAngel:

No shame. No judgment. Just a tool that actually helps.

Kids screen time at home goes up when school’s out. That’s just reality — not a parenting failure. The question isn’t whether they’re going to watch something. The question is whether you actually feel okay about what’s playing while you’re making lunch, answering emails, or doing anything else that requires your attention for more than four minutes.

For a lot of parents, the honest answer is: not always.

The Problem With “Mostly Fine”

Most of what kids want to watch is mostly fine. But “mostly fine” is doing a lot of work in that sentence.

It means you’ve seen enough of the show to feel reasonably okay about it. It means you haven’t heard anything alarming from other parents. It means the rating seems about right for the age.

What it doesn’t mean is that you actually know what’s in every episode. Or that the language in episode seven isn’t a surprise. Or that the show your nine-year-old is watching in the other room is exactly the version you’d choose if you were sitting right there.

There’s a gap between “probably fine” and “I know what’s playing.” VidAngel closes that gap.

Set It Before You Press Play

VidAngel works with your existing streaming services — Netflix, Prime Video, Paramount+, Apple TV+, Peacock, and more — to let you filter what plays before your kids ever see it. Profanity, sexual content, nudity, violence — 100+ customizable filters you set once and they run automatically.

You’re not hovering. You’re not doing a mental risk assessment every time they pick something new. You set the filters based on your kids, your house, your standards — and then you go make lunch without the background anxiety.

What It Looks Like at Oakley’s House

Content creator Oakley Peterson (@nothingdownaboutit) keeps it real about what screen time actually looks like when kids are home — which is to say, more than usual, and that’s okay. VidAngel is how she makes peace with it. Real filters, real shows, real family.

More Screen Time. Less Second-Guessing.

You don’t have to earn a break. You just have to press play on something you actually feel good about.

Nobody warns you anymore. So we built something that does.

There’s a pattern that’s become almost impossible to ignore.

You start a show based on a recommendation, a trailer, a vague cultural sense that this is the one everyone’s watching right now. The first episode is great. Two episodes in, you’re hooked. And then — somewhere around episode four — something happens that you were genuinely not prepared for.

Not in a “this show went somewhere interesting” way. In a “did that really need to be in here” way.

Stranger Things started as a nostalgic 80s thriller that felt almost family-friendly. Season by season, the content intensified well past where most people expected it to go. Outlander is built around a genuinely compelling love story — and also contains some of the heaviest content on streaming. Peaky Blinders is a masterclass in atmosphere and character — and treats graphic violence and sexual content as standard background.

None of these are bad shows. That’s almost what makes it more frustrating. The storytelling is legitimately good. The content just keeps escalating past the point where a lot of people wanted it to stop.

The Normalization Nobody Voted For

There’s a reasonable conversation to have about whether prestige television needs to be this explicit to tell the stories it’s trying to tell. Spoiler: it usually doesn’t.

The violence in Peaky Blinders doesn’t make Tommy Shelby more menacing. The nudity in Outlander doesn’t make Jamie and Claire’s relationship more believable. The bloody gore in Stranger Things doesn’t make the stakes feel higher — it just makes the show harder to watch with anyone outside a very specific audience.

What’s actually happened is that graphic content has become a kind of default setting. A signal that something is “serious” television. A way to announce that this isn’t network TV anymore. And somewhere along the way, viewers stopped being warned and started just finding out.

That’s a problem worth solving.

You Shouldn’t Have to Go In Blind

VidAngel’s new Content Guides are built around one simple idea: you should know what’s in a show before you press play.

Not a vague rating. Not a three-word content advisory. An actual breakdown — what the show is about, what content it contains, which filters apply, and what you can do about it. Visual, specific, and genuinely useful before you’ve committed to anything.

Shows with Content Guides already include Peaky Blinders, Outlander, Stranger Things, Bridgerton, Landman, Top Gun: Maverick, The Night Manager, One Piece, Hijack, and more — with new titles added regularly.

Then, once you know what you’re getting into, you can set your filters and watch however you actually want to watch. 100+ customizable options for profanity, sexual content, nudity, violence, blasphemy, and more. The show stays. The surprises don’t.

Eric Taylor Is Asking the Right Questions

Content creator Eric Taylor has been making the observation that a lot of people have quietly had but never said out loud: why is this the new normal, and does it actually have to be? His take on VidAngel’s Content Guides is worth watching — not as an ad, but as a genuine answer to a question that’s been building for a while.

Know Before You Watch. Filter What You Want. Actually Enjoy It.

The information exists. You just shouldn’t have to find out mid-episode.

If you’ve somehow made it this far in life without hearing someone dramatically say “By order of the Peaky Blinders…”—first of all, how peaceful. Second, it’s time to catch up.

Peaky Blinders isn’t just another crime show. It’s the crime show people recommend with a slightly intense look in their eyes, like they need you to experience it so they can talk about it more.

So… What Is Peaky Blinders?

Set in post–World War I Birmingham, England, the show follows the Shelby family—a charming group of gangsters who solve most of their problems with a mix of strategy, intimidation, and… more intimidation.

At the center of it all is Thomas Shelby, played by Cillian Murphy—a man who looks like he hasn’t slept since 1918 and somehow runs an entire criminal empire anyway.

What starts as a small-time betting operation quickly escalates into:

Violent turf wars

Political power plays

International crime dealings

And a surprising amount of family drama

Because yes—this is technically a gangster show, but it’s also deeply about family. A very complicated, slightly terrifying family, but still.

Why People Are Absolutely Obsessed

Let’s break it down.

The Vibes Are Immaculate

1920s fashion? Incredible.
Cinematography? Cinematic.
Soundtrack? Somehow it’s modern rock and it works.

This show made slow-motion walking in suits feel like a personality trait.

It’s Not Just Crime—It’s Trauma

Unlike your average “bad guys doing bad things” show, Peaky Blinders dives deep into the emotional cost of power.

Tommy Shelby isn’t just building an empire—he’s battling PTSD, guilt, and the weight of every decision he makes.

Fun!

The Stakes Are Always High

Every season somehow raises the tension:

Rival gangs (the Birmingham Boys, the Changrettas, etc.)

Government interference

Internal family betrayal

It’s basically a constant loop of “this can’t get worse” immediately followed by “oh, it got worse.”

It’s All About Family (But Like… Intense Family)

At its core, the show is about loyalty, betrayal, and the fine line between protecting your family and completely ruining them.

Enter: The Next Chapter

Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man

Just when you thought the Shelby saga might let you emotionally recover… it doesn’t.

Set in 1940 during World War II, The Immortal Man brings us back to a retired (but let’s be honest, never really retired) Tommy Shelby.

After living in exile, Tommy is pulled back into the chaos when his estranged son, Duke, gets tangled up in a Nazi counterfeit operation.

Now Tommy has to return to Birmingham for what looks like his final reckoning—facing new enemies, old demons, and the consequences of everything he’s built.

Let’s Address the Obvious: It Gets… Intense

There is no universe where a 1920s gangster drama is described as “light viewing.”

Between the language, violence, and occasional “maybe don’t watch this with your parents” moments, Peaky Blinders definitely earns its gritty reputation.

Which is exactly why VidAngel exists.

Watch Peaky Blinders Without the “Wait… Was That Necessary?” Moments

With VidAngel, you can still get:

The power moves

The plot twists

The iconic Tommy Shelby speeches

But without:

Profanity

Nudity

Graphic violence

Same story. Less “welp, that escalated quickly.”

By Order of… You, Honestly

Peaky Blinders is stylish, intense, emotional, and just the right amount of chaotic. It’s the kind of show that pulls you in, ruins your sleep schedule, and leaves you thinking about it days later.

And with the recent release of The Immortal Man, now is the perfect time to finally watch it—or rewatch it and pretend you’re picking up on “new details.”

No judgment.

Just don’t forget—you can watch it your way.

Want to know how to skip the sexual content in Bridgerton? You’re not alone. Here’s how you can watch Bridgerton without the scenes that might make you scramble for the remote or hide behind your hands.

Bridgerton is one of the most-watched shows on Netflix. The drama is addictive, the costumes are incredible, and the slow-burn romance keeps you hooked. But the sexual content? Well … it’s a lot. That part you can skip entirely with VidAngel.

Part 2 of Season 4 just dropped on Netflix. Even better, it’s already filtered and ready to watch on VidAngel! So if you’ve been waiting to jump in, now’s the time.

Why Bridgerton Is Worth Watching (Even With the Filters On)

Bridgerton isn’t just a steamy period drama. In fact, it’s genuinely good television. The show follows the Bridgerton family across multiple seasons, with each season centering on a different sibling’s love story. The writing is sharp. The tension between characters is well-earned. And the setting, Regency-era London reimagined with lush diversity and modern sensibility, is unlike anything else on TV right now.

Each season is built around a slow-burn romance. There’s misunderstanding, longing, witty banter, and a satisfying payoff. What VidAngel allows you to do is skip the explicit content. The story stays exactly as compelling.

The costumes alone are worth the subscription. Seriously.

Need a more in-depth Bridgerton recap? Check out: Bridgerton Recap: Everything You Need To Know Before Season 4 and Bridgerton Season 4, Part 1 Recap

Here’s the Thing About Season 4, Part 1

Season 4, Part 1 (the first four episodes) contained 19 instances of sexual content. In fact, several of those appeared within the first five minutes of Episode 1. Not exactly subtle.

And if history is any guide, Part 2 will be more of the same. Every previous season has saved its most explicit moments for the second half. That’s not a spoiler. That’s just the pattern.

So rather than white-knuckling it through with a remote, VidAngel filters those moments automatically. You set your preferences once. Then you just relax and watch.

The Most Eventful Episode of Each Season (With Timestamps)

To give you a sense of what you’re working with, here’s a breakdown of the sexual content from the single most… eventful episode of each of the previous seasons. These are the episodes where filters earn their keep.

Season 1, Episode 6

In total, there are 41 instances of sexual content in this single episode. They’re clustered in two main stretches: a long sequence running from roughly the 5-minute mark through the 14-minute mark, and a second wave around the 43-minute mark through the 50-minute mark.

Season 2 is generally considered the most romantic of the first three seasons. Even so, Episode 7 is still its most explicit. It contains 15 instances of sexual content, concentrated around two main stretches: one cluster near the 19-minute mark and another around the 50-minute mark.

Phew. That’s exhausting to scroll through, let alone navigate in real time.

What VidAngel Actually Does

VidAngel doesn’t change the show. Instead, it adds a filtering layer on top of your existing streaming service. It doesn’t affect your Netflix subscription either. You simply watch Bridgerton through VidAngel, and the filters automatically skip or mute the content you’ve selected.

You’re in control of exactly what gets filtered. For example, if you only want to skip the sexual content, you filter only that (or you can choose to leave it in). If you also would like to reduce the language, you can do that too. The drama, the storyline, the costumes (so many costumes), the tension, the romance? All of it stays.

In addition, VidAngel works with Netflix, Prime Video, Apple TV, Peacock, Paramount+, and other major streaming platforms. You keep your existing subscriptions. VidAngel works with them.

How to Watch Filtered Bridgerton on VidAngel

Sign up for VidAngel at vidangel.com.

Connect your Netflix account through the VidAngel mobile app or website.

Search for Bridgerton and select the season and episode you want.

Set your filters. Choose sexual content, nudity, language, or any combination.

Watch. The filters work automatically from that point forward.

That’s it. No remote gymnastics. No fast-forwarding. No hiding behind hands. And no second-guessing whether the next scene is safe to watch when the teenager wanders into the room.

Is Bridgerton Worth Watching with Filters?

Genuinely, yes! Bridgerton has a lot going for it beyond the explicit content. The performances are strong. The costumes and production design are stunning. The storylines are engaging.

The point isn’t to avoid great storytelling. It’s to watch it on your own terms.

Turns out the TV version was doing a lot of heavy lifting.

There’s a rite of passage for millennial parents that nobody really warns you about.

You decide it’s time. Your kid is finally old enough. You’re going to share one of the movies that shaped your entire childhood — Back to the Future, Forrest Gump, Top Gun, Ferris Bueller — and watch their face light up the same way yours did.

You pull it up. You settle in. And approximately twenty minutes later you remember something important:

You watched the TV version as a kid.

The one that quietly swapped out the language. The one that cut that scene. The one that your parents put on without a second thought because it had already been sorted out for them.

The streaming version has not been sorted out. And now you’re doing math in real time about whether to keep watching or just quietly close the laptop.

The Made-for-TV Edit Was a Gift We Didn’t Appreciate

A whole generation grew up watching the sanitized cable versions of R-rated movies and just… assumed that was the movie. Ferris Bueller on ABC Family. Good Will Hunting at 8pm on a Tuesday.

Those versions existed because someone decided it was worth the effort to make great movies watchable for a broader audience. And they were right.

That instinct didn’t go away. Parents still want to share the stories they love. Kids still deserve to watch Karate Kid without their parents pausing every few minutes to make a judgment call. The problem is that streaming platforms don’t come with that option built in anymore.

VidAngel brings it back.

Keep the Magic. Skip What Doesn’t Need to Be There.

VidAngel works with your existing streaming services to let you filter what you watch before it plays. Profanity, sexual content, nudity, violence — 100+ customizable filters you can set based on what works for your family. The story stays intact. The performances stay intact. The parts that made you love the movie in the first place? All still there.

Gladiator keeps its weight. Forrest Gump keeps every single moment that made you cry in 1994. You just get to watch it the way you actually want to — the way you remember it — without the surprises that streaming quietly added back in.

It works across 25,000+ titles. New content gets added every week. And there’s a free trial so you can find out what movie night feels like when you’re the one calling the shots.

One Mom Who Gets It

Mary (@ijustwannachat) has been there — excited to share a childhood favorite, then realizing mid-movie that the version she remembered and the version currently streaming are not exactly the same thing. VidAngel is how she closes that gap. Same movies. Same magic. Watched her way.

The Classics Deserve a Second Run. On Your Terms.

You don’t have to retire the movies that meant something to you just because streaming didn’t come with an editor. Share them the way you remember them.

If you’re looking for a crime thriller that jumps straight into tension, The Rip on Netflix does not ease you in.

From the opening scenes, this film makes one thing clear: things are about to spiral. What starts as a routine police operation quickly turns into a pressure cooker of bad decisions, broken trust, and escalating consequences.

This is not a casual background watch — The Rip demands your attention.

What Is The Rip About?

The Rip follows a group of Miami police officers already shaken by an unsolved murder within their own department. When they stumble upon a stash house containing millions of dollars in cash, what should be a major career win becomes a moral and professional nightmare.

As rumors about the money spread:

Outside threats begin closing in

Internal loyalties fracture

Trust within the team starts to erode

Every character has something to gain — and something to hide. The film becomes less about the crime itself and more about how quickly pressure pushes people to cross lines they never thought they would.

Is The Rip Family-Friendly?

No — The Rip is not family-friendly.

This film is intended for mature audiences and includes several elements that may not be appropriate for families or younger viewers.

What Kind of Content Is in The Rip?

Viewers should be aware that The Rip includes:

Strong language

Violence and threats

Intense emotional confrontations

Dark themes involving corruption and betrayal

The tension is psychological as much as physical, with frequent moments of verbal aggression and moral conflict.

What Filters Should I Use When Watching The Rip?

If you’re interested in the story but prefer a more controlled viewing experience, VidAngel filters can help.

Recommended filters for The Rip include:

Muting or filtering strong language

Skipping or softening violent scenes

Using filters allows you to stay focused on the plot, performances, and suspense without being pulled out of the experience by content you’d rather avoid.

Who Would Enjoy The Rip?

You’ll likely enjoy The Rip if you like:

Crime thrillers with high tension

Stories centered on moral gray areas

Police dramas where trust unravels

Dialogue-driven films where every scene matters

This is a character-focused thriller rather than an action-heavy one, making it ideal for viewers who enjoy psychological pressure over spectacle.

Is The Rip Good? Is It Worth Watching?

If you enjoy intense crime dramas that explore how fast people fall apart under pressure, The Rip delivers.

With strong performances from Matt Damon and Ben Affleck, the film builds unease scene by scene. Every decision feels consequential, and the tension comes from watching characters rationalize increasingly risky choices.

It’s the kind of movie where one moment changes everything — and the rest of the runtime is spent wondering who’s going to make the worst decision next.

The Olympics are almost here, which means the world is about to collectively pretend we understand every sport ever invented.

Whether you’re counting down to the opening ceremonies or just suddenly feeling very patriotic about athletic excellence, this is the perfect time to lean into sports stories that remind us why we love competition in the first place—heart, grit, redemption, and the occasional meltdown.

And because not every sports movie or series is exactly family-night friendly, this list is best enjoyed with VidAngel—so you can filter what you don’t want and focus on the moments that matter.

Here are five must-watch sports titles that pair perfectly with the Olympic season.

Air

The story of a legend before he was a legend

Before Michael Jordan became Michael Jordan, he was an under-the-radar rookie—and Nike was just another struggling shoe brand trying to stay relevant. Air tells the story of how a risky partnership between an unproven athlete and a fledgling basketball division changed sports marketing forever.

Why it fits the Olympic spirit:

Celebrates belief in raw talent before the world catches on

Highlights how one bold decision can change history

A reminder that greatness often starts quietly

Watch it on VidAngel to filter language and keep the focus on the inspiring rise of one of the most iconic athletes of all time.

Hustle

Every athlete’s second chance story

Hustle follows a down-on-his-luck basketball scout who bets everything on a once-in-a-generation player with a complicated past. Together, they chase an impossible dream: proving they belong in the NBA.

Why it fits the Olympic spirit:

Showcases international talent and global competition

Emphasizes perseverance over privilege

Reminds us that the road to greatness is rarely smooth

Redemption, mentorship, and the mental game of sports

Golf doesn’t always get the same hype as track or gymnastics—but Stick proves it deserves a seat at the table. After a career-ending meltdown, Pryce Cahill mentors a teenage golf phenom, hoping to save both the kid’s future and his own.

Why it fits the Olympic spirit:

Focuses on mental toughness as much as physical skill

Highlights mentorship and legacy

Explores how failure can shape better athletes

When competition becomes personal

Warrior isn’t just about mixed martial arts—it’s about family, forgiveness, and fighting inner demons. Two estranged brothers find themselves on a collision course in an MMA tournament, trained by a father they’re not sure they can trust.

Why it fits the Olympic spirit:

Explores discipline, sacrifice, and resilience

Shows the emotional cost of elite competition

Highlights the power of redemption

Introduction to Sullivan’s Crossing

Sullivan’s Crossing is a captivating Canadian romantic drama based on the bestselling novel series by Robyn Carr (Virgin River), the show follows Maggie Sullivan (Morgan Kohan), a successful Boston neurosurgeon whose life takes a sharp left turn after some legal troubles.

Instead of leaning into the drama of courtroom scenes, Maggie packs up, heads home to Timberlake, Nova Scotia, and runs headfirst into her past… namely, her estranged father, Sully, and the type of small-town gossip that travels faster than your Wi-Fi.

The series blends romance, family healing, and that cozy “maybe I should move to a lakeside town and open a bakery” feeling. With three seasons available and a fourth on the way in 2026, it’s a binge-worthy escape, especially now that it’s streaming on Netflix.

Who Stars in Sullivan’s Crossing?

The cast is basically a reunion of familiar faces from your other comfort shows with enough chemistry to power a small town.

Morgan Kohan (When Hope Calls, Murdoch Mysteries) as Maggie Sullivan – The high-achieving neurosurgeon whose perfect city life… wasn’t. She’s relatable if you’ve ever looked around and thought, “I need a reset, preferably with better scenery.”

Chad Michael Murray (One Tree Hill, Gilmore Girls) as Cal Jones – The brooding yet charming campground handyman. He’s the guy who can fix your roof and your heart in the same afternoon.

Scott Patterson (Gilmore Girls) as Harry “Sully” Sullivan – Maggie’s father and Timberlake’s resident “gruff but lovable” archetype. If you’ve missed Luke Danes, this is the upgrade: same grump, more flannel.

Tom Jackson (North of 60, Outlander) as Frank Cranebear – Sully’s ride-or-die friend. Wise, steady, and the kind of neighbor who would actually lend you sugar without silently judging you.

Andrea Menard (Blackstone, Supernatural) as Edna Cranebear – Frank’s wife, the unofficial town therapist, and a walking reminder that kindness doesn’t mean weakness.

Allan Hawco (Republic of Doyle, Jack Ryan) as Andrew Mathews – Maggie’s city boyfriend, here to stir the romantic pot. Think “complication” with good hair.

Lynda Boyd (Virgin River) as Phoebe Lancaster – Maggie’s mother, Sully’s ex, and living proof that family reunions are rarely peaceful.

Plus, recurring faces like Amalia Williamson and Dakota Taylor round out the Timberlake crew you’ll inevitably wish were your neighbors.

Shows Like Sullivan’s Crossing

If you’re here for slow-burn romance, tight-knit towns, and personal reinvention, your next watchlist could include:

Virgin River – Basically Sullivan’s Crossing’s sibling in both source material and emotional tone.

Sweet Magnolias – Friendship, love, and enough small-town drama to fill a community newsletter.

Firefly Lane – Friendship, nostalgia, and plenty of life detours..

Why Watch Sullivan’s Crossing on VidAngel?

Because small-town drama should be about who’s dating who, not “wait, did they just say that in front of Grandma?”

Custom Content Filters – Skip language, mature scenes, or anything that might snap you out of your cozy binge.

Stream Without Surprises – Watch with anyone, from your teenager to your great-aunt, and avoid the awkward remote scramble.

Netflix Integration – Already in your queue? Filter it instantly.

Why You’ll Love It

Sullivan’s Crossing is what you put on when you want to feel something… but not in the “I just watched a true crime doc and now I can’t sleep” way. It’s romantic, hopeful, and scenic enough to make you start Googling “cabins for sale in Nova Scotia.”

And on VidAngel, you get to experience every bit of Timberlake’s (not to be confused with Justin Timberlake) charm exactly the way you want it. Because the only drama in your living room should be on screen.

Why Sullivan’s Crossing Might Be Your New Virgin River

If you’ve been counting the days until the next season of Virgin River, Sullivan’s Crossing might just fill that gap in your heart (and your Netflix queue). Both are based on novels by Robyn Carr, both feature strong women in the medical field starting over in picturesque small towns, and both mix romance, family drama, and gorgeous scenery into a beautiful, bingeable package. The difference? Sullivan’s Crossing brings a fresh Canadian backdrop, a slightly more grounded tone, and a new cast of characters you’ll be rooting for by episode two. On VidAngel, you can enjoy it with the same comfort factor you get from Virgin River—meaning it’s safe to watch with your mom, your teen, or anyone else who likes heartfelt drama without the awkward fast-forward scramble.

Top Gun: Maverick is exactly what you want in a sequel. Nostalgia? Check. Aerial stunts that make your palms sweat? Check. Tom Cruise running like his life depends on it? Triple check. It’s the kind of movie that has you quoting “Talk to me, Goose” before the opening credits are even done.

But try watching it with your teenager and suddenly you’re white-knuckling the remote like it’s the eject handle in a nosedive. The flying may be PG-13, but the dialogue? Let’s just say the Navy isn’t exactly handing out soap bars with those dog tags.

We’re talking:

69 swear words

1 F-bomb

Turns out, you can enjoy the full plot—fighter jets, redemption arcs, emotional dad stuff, beach football, and all—without the military-grade profanity. Who knew?

That made-for-TV version you wish existed? Yeah, it does now. With VidAngel, you can stream Top Gun: Maverick in all its high-octane glory, minus the language that makes movie night feel like basic training. Keep the heart-pounding action, the nostalgia, the shirtless bravado. Skip the swearing.

Sure, you could try fast-forwarding every time the cockpit chatter gets spicy. But that’s like flying a fighter jet blindfolded. Technically possible. Definitely not recommended.

Let VidAngel handle the filtering for you. You set your preferences, we clean up the comms.

And if you’re someone who still insists on manually scrubbing through every “what the—” and “son of a—”, we salute your dedication. We also went ahead and created a full timestamp list of every single profanity so you can still DIY the hard way.

Watch smarter. Filter the static. Keep the speed.
