FAQ: “Would VidAngel paint over nude paintings?” This is a metaphor we hear a lot. And the answer is no. It is illegal to forcibly change art that does not belong to you. It would also be illegal for VidAngel to create an edited version of a movie and then sell it to you. We don’t do that.
Now, just like how your Great Aunt Ethel is free to buy a miniature statue of David and knit him a tiny pair of 1940s-style trousers, you are also free to skip scenes and mute words in movies you watch at home.
With VidAngel, you connect your existing Netflix, Amazon, or Apple TV+ subscription. Then use VidAngel as a really cool, hi-tech remote control. Selecting one, or all, of our customized filters for nudity, sex, profanity, violence, and more before you even press play. Now, when an uncomfortable scene pops up you won’t have to worry about scrambling to find your long-lost remote in one of the crusty crevices of your couch (it’s one with the couch now).
The choice is yours. Pretend you can see the future and know the exact right time to fast-forward all of those inappropriate scenes or hit the mute button before an f-bomb comes out of the left field. Or, use VidAngel. That’s what we’re here for.

We appreciate vidAngel. There are ALOT of movies we don’t watch because of language and sexuality. Thank you for giving us such freedom.
Sweet butter crumpets! Is that Scott Sterling?
My family and I are very grateful for your app. I spend time with young people from my local church and when we do watch movies I always use your app to make sure that nothing offensive comes up. Thank you for this app, I hope you guys continue the great work. You guys are awesome!
Your service would be much more useful if you could censor sexual scenes by cropping for example. It would still be great if it was possible to skip the scene but play the sound and voices anyway. I’m sure you can find a way to do something like that legally.
Thanks for the suggestion!
