Outer Banks Season 1-3 Recap

Season 1 Recap

Season one starts off with the Pogues (John B., Sarah, JJ, Kiara, and Pope) looking for the Royal Merchant treasure led by John B. They end up finding the Royal Merchant treasure (YAY) but then are double-crossed by Ward Cameron. Who’s Ward Cameron? Sarah’s DAD. Her brother is also the worst. Story time: John B. is dating Sarah. Sarah’s dad, Ward Cameron doesn’t just double cross them in the hunt for the treasure, but frames John B. for MURDER. Kind of makes you wonder if John B. asked Ward Cameron for Sarah’s hand in marriage if he’d say yes? We’re jumping the gun a little bit, pun intended. Anyway, Ward Cameron convinces everyone that John B, Sarah’s bestowed, killed Sheriff Peterkin and that John B. stole the treasure. The season closes with John B and Sarah fleeing the Outer Banks, presumed dead after a violent storm. Turns out they’re not, they get rescued by a passing ship. Halleloo.

Season 2 Recap

Season two starts off with another treasure hunt. the remaining Pogues deciding to look for the Cross of Santo Domingo. It just so happens that Ward Cameron, and his psychopath of a son Rafe, are also looking for it. We’ve seen this song and dance before. Rafe is the one that actually murdered the police officer that John B was framed for by his sweetheart’s dad Ward Cameron. John B and Sarah come back after some excitement. Said excitement, Rafe shoots Sarah, HIS SISTER. Makes our chaotic family reunions look like child’s play. Anyway, the Pogues find the Cross of Santo Domingo and then lose the Cross of santo Domingo. Season two ends with the Pogues in Pogueland, which is essentially a deserted island. Lovely.

Season 3 Recap

Season three, long story short. They try to find treasure again. Ward Cameron shows up. It’s a mess. Long story long, the Pogues are rescued and decide to look for the lost city of gold, El Dorado, the mythical lost city of gold. John B is finally reunited with his long-lost father, Big John, but their joy is short-lived. Remember the wet blanket that is Ward Cameron? He’s there and messed everything up. Shocking. As the Pogues race against time to beat Ward and his team to the treasure, it takes a left turn. Both Big John and Ward lose their lives in a little snafu. In the end, the Pogues secure some of the treasure and return home as heroes, but they’re given Blackbeard’s captain’s log and pulled right back into another adventure when they just should have signed up for football camp. Anything else.

With Season 4 coming soon and a inevitable treasure hunt on the horizon, we’re ready to be hurt again. The Pogues have faced loss, betrayal, and near-death experiences, but their thirst for treasure, survival, and a touch of toxicity keeps them pushing forward.

There’s no telling what’s next, but two thing’s are for sure: there’s going to be a treasure hunt and a couple of Cameron’s involved.
